The Man, The Legend, the Uccello Kettle Creator
Our Italian born founder and inventor Andy, left Italy when he was just 6 years old. Arriving on the sandy shores of Perth, Western Australia in 1952. Andy brought with him a hidden talent for innovation and flair.
As a young man, Andy entered the working world with his passion for invention. He developed new business ideas and products that would later make him a successful businessman.
Before the Uccello Kettle was born, Andy was busy with his own cleaning business and another invention of his, the vertical blind cleaner.
The Problem He Faced
2011 was when Andy was unfortunately diagnosed with arthritis. This was when his creative eye turned towards another ingenious product.
His day-to-day became more difficult. Things such as lifting the kettle to make himself a cup of coffee resulted in pain and possibly a few mishaps.
Andy loved his morning coffee. Not being able to enjoy his morning ritual bothered him. It was time to research what was out there for those in the same boat as him.
After seeing that there was very little in daily living aids to help him, he turned his talents to designing and creating a tipping kettle that would ease the struggle and still enable him to maintain his independence.
The Solution He Designed
Master craftsmanship is the calling card of a designer, developer, and entrepreneur. Andy DePetra, a passionate, Italian inventor who combined his love of Italian design standards with the art of coffee drinking gave us the sophisticated and functional Uccello patented Kettle.
The Uccello Kettle
The Uccello Kettle was born. Thanks to European influence and Andy’s creative abilities he was able to invent the Uccello Kettle with fluid tilt-to-pour action – making life much safer and easier for the user.
The kettle tilts safely to deliver steaming hot water without causing undue pressure and weight to the tea/coffee maker.
The Uccello Kettle with its uniquely designed pendulum arc of forwarding motion remarkably resembles a small bird. Thus the name ‘’Uccello’’ which in Italian means bird.

My Uccello kettle is about 8 months old now and is honestly one of the best presents I have ever received. It is a joy to use, perfectly designed for someone with arthritis in their hands and wrists. Gone are the days when I often dropped a boiling hot kettle and badly burned myself.
The Uccello kettle is amazing, it really is! Thank you Andy DePetra for designing something which makes such a difference to my everyday life.
